Lumber Liquidators

Does "Hardwood Lumber for Less" mean less quality, less service, less wood figure or less price?

Author: Dennis Bell, Bell Forest Products

Being in the hardwood lumber business I often get questions about the online flooring supplier Lumber Liquidators. I decided to do some research on this company so I could better answer questions about them. I began by Googleing both Lumber Liquidators Reviews and "Lumber Liquidaters Reviews", as both are commonly searched. The first forum that came up was here.

I am trying to be objective here but it was difficult to find positive comments from customers in the forums I visited. When I did find a positive comment it was along the lines of "Lumber Liquidators price was OK, but beware of mixed manufactures and odd thickness and short pieces". Other people were very upset by the poor finish with inclusions and air bubbles. One person admitted that they had read bad reviews but giving them the "benefit of the doubt" he ordered anyway and was miserably disappointed. His advice was probably the best: "BELIEVE THE REVIEWS".

Bait and switch is another term that pops up in the forums. One person said that the customer service is in the range of poor to abysmal. Apparently this poor soul literally spent hours on the phone with Lumber Liquidators and received no solution or satisfaction. We should all expect a better experience with a natural and beautiful product like hardwood flooring.

Bell Forest Products competes with Lumber Liquidators on a smaller scale and naturally one should consider my opinions as biased and self-serving; I admit that it is so. Our company is built on the foundation of customer service and satisfaction. I would be devastated if Bell Forest got reviews anything like that of Lumber Liquidators. The bottom line is this: Read the reviews and beware. If you want good personal service and top-notch products please consider Bell Forest Products.
