Hard Wood Lumber

Our warehouse is quite literally tipping with hard wood lumber. Where's your next order?

Author: Bell Forest Products

Hard wood lumber is what we focus on. Birdseye Maple, Curly Maple (Tiger Maple) make up most of our locally processed domestic wood, while many other species of hard wood lumber is brought in, either through local sawmills, or, for the exotics, through import. Every piece of wood that enters our facility is physically handled by one of our team members and is then checked for grain tightness, straightness, and whether any defects or figure exists.

As we go about milling our hard wood lumber we have to take into account many different type of woodworkers. Each board, if selected to become smaller pieces of inventory, is marked up with a wax pencil to determine the best way to get the most uses out of that board. Many of the pieces of wood are immediately flagged for speciality items like gun stocks or guitar necks.

In addition to the processing stage, we stock many full-sized, individual pieces of hard wood lumber in our leaning lumber racks. These racks allow walk-in customers to view pieces of lumber one at a time, in good lighting, to find exactly what they are looking for. As we add new species to our inventory we are able to showcase them to local contractors using these racks.

Our bulk hard wood lumber is stored in the back of our warehouse, on pallet shelves. This lumber is sorted by figure and set aside for larger custom orders. In the pallet area we stock a nominal amount of Birdseye Maple, Curly Maple (Tiger Maple), Walnut, Oak, Cherry, and exotic lumber.

Often we will get someone who will walk in looking for some soft wood, i.e. Pine. In time we may choose to stock more soft woods, but for now hard wood lumber is really our focus. If you are looking hard wood lumber, especially Birdseye Maple or Curly Maple (Tiger Maple), look no further. We have thousands of board feet ready to go!
