Birdseye Maple
Birdseye Maple Lumber: Birdseye Maple lumber is hand-selected for every order. 4/4 lumber is hit-and-miss planed to 15/16" on two sides. It is random widths, 4" and wider and random lengths from 6' to 12'. The NHLA grade for this lumber is #1 Common & Better (mix of #1 Common, Select, and FAS.) Sap & Better is the color sort that is used. Sap & Btr means at least one face of every board will be all white sapwood. The other face may or may not have dark heartwood on it. Birdseye Maple lumber and Curly Maple Lumber (Tiger Maple) is also sorted for amount of figure. Exceptional (Exc) means the lumber is sorted for Medium/Heavy figure. #1 means the lumber is sorted for Light/Medium figure. Custom sorting (widths, lengths, color, or figure) is available. Custom milling is also available. Please call us with your requests.
